The busy single lives we lead ! Writing is good for the sole
Naturally, as a single, we're responsible for everything in the household ! Whether it be dishes, the trash, cleaning, etc. And then of course, we have our jobs; and if you have kids, there's even more responsiblility.
My week has most certainly been busy. I pulled four 18 hour days, with work and school/test/exams; and to top it off, both my parents are suddenly sick this week. To top it off, my folks are in Florida, and I am in Virginia. My folks spend the winter in Florida, though this year, they went in September of 2012 and did not come home for Thanksgiving/Christmas (I went there).
Tuesday, learned, that my mothers blood pressure has been up to 200, on and off. Every time I had called lately, my mom seemed to be home, so I have not had the chance to talk to my dad. The moment I caught up with my dad, he told me. Also, a muscle is rubbing on a part of her eye, and making her eyes go crossed. Also learned, that my grandmother had this, and soon after, had a stroke.
Talking to mom, she had been to Dr, and going again today. Yesterday, learned, that the DR told her, she was allergic to her blood pressure meds, and took her off, and gave her nothing in return. Later learned, the DR only gave her about a 3 minute appointment, on today's appt, again, with no new meds. She had gone to eye DR yesterday, and now was waiting to get into see a Neurologist, who was many days out, pre-booked !
Wednesday, learned that my fathers' CNA, had to call my mom, who was out with a GF, to let her know, his lips were blue. Later stage of Hypoxia ! Learned this word in my medical class this week !
The nurse came in and gave him more oxygen. Thursday, he did not get out of the chair all day (took sponge bath), and my mom said, he was becoming very very weak. He refused to go to the hospital.
Yesterday, Saturday, he became confused, so the rescue squad was able to take him to the hospital without his permission. He has Double Pnuemonia. So glad he is there.
Friday night, I slept 8 hours, but all day, I was so sluggish, that I had to take a 3 hours nap. This was all before he went to the hospital. I guess the week finally caught up with me ! After learning he was in the hospital, I was even more worthless. I just talked on facebook to friends and text friends, and didn't even watch the TV movie in front of me. This really helped pass the time.
It's a new day, and waiting for shift change in hospital, so I can find out how my dad is doing. I hope today, to make up for all the work I did not do yesterday ! And hope, I am not as sluggish ! I have habit of fussing at myself, when I don't get my work done (I can be my worse enemy); but I guess every one deserves a little time off to recoup. But today, my plans will be to make it up.
Remember, "writing is good for the sole " (and I don't mean the soles of your feet). That is why it was helpful, to just write on facebook and send those text yesterday. It's times like this, we need friends; and when we can't be physically with them, we can write them, on venues like facebook and text !
And, that is why I began this blog. So that I can just write, and hoping you will join me here and do the same; and converse ! Making new friends, to be there, for the single !
